Corso | Chldren's Rights

Teatro Ruzante, Dipartimento SPGI

Dal 03.03.2023 al 19.05.2023

The Children’s Rights Course, held within the Master’s Degree in Human Rights and Multi-level Governance, is offered thanks to an agreement between Save the Children Italy and the Human Rights Center “Antonio Papisca” (UniPd).

The course, after a first theoretical part aiming at introducing the students to the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC), aims to provide an operational approach to children’s rights thanks to the participation of Save the Children’s experts in different fields.

During the lessons, it will be analyzed the challenges faced while protecting children’s rights in practice, especially in the case of vulnerable groups such as unaccompanied, migrants, and refugee children.

Once defined the concept of “child protection”, the course aims to analyze, with a child- centered approach, the phenomenon of migrations and the main routes towards Italy.

Afterward, the analysis will focus on children in armed conflict and emergency contexts, on child poverty and educational poverty, with the aim of acquiring knowledge about the instruments to fight the phenomenon, and on domestic violence and trafficking.

Thanks to the support of the MA HRG Director and the Career Coaching service, this year's course will be enriched with lessons held by representatives of European institutions and NGOs operating in the CR field.

The programme of the Course is avaiable in attachment.
