Prof. van der Heijden is an internationally recognized expert on urban climate governance and regulatory governance. He has held positions at Victoria University of Wellington (School of Government), the University of Amsterdam (College of Law), Delft University of Technology (Faculty of Technology, Policy and Management), and Wageningen University (Environmental Policy Group).

The seminars are open to the public.
