The seminar Making international research projects happen: experience shared and the example of the research project Women’s Labour activism in Eastern Europe and Transnationally will be held on November 6, 2024 in aula Seminari 2 (via del Santo 28) from 2:30 PM to 5:00 PM.
Visiting fellow at the University of Padua, Susan Zimmermann, during this seminar will share insight into the above-named research project ZARAH (2020–2026) from the application to the realization phase. She will be happy to discuss recent developments in gendered and transnational labour history, and questions related to ERC projects more generally.

BIO
Zimmermann is a historian of labour, gender, and internationalism in the 19 th and 20 th centuries. She has been the Principal Investigator of ZARAH and has served on the ERC Mentoring Initiative of the Institute for Human Sciences (Vienna, Austria). In 2021, she published the monograph (in German) Women’s Politics and Men’s Trade Unions – International Gender Politics, IFTU Women Trade Unionists, and the Labor and Women’s Movements of the Interwar Period. Most recently she published a book chapter on the International Labour Organization and the gender politics of the mass worker in Eastern Europe, and co-edited a special issue of the Journal of Contemporary Central and Eastern Europe on the relationship between women’s labour activism and multi-scale labor governance.
